About Kirsten
Kirsten Taylor is an associate attorney at SpencerWillson, PLLC in Salt Lake City. She represents businesses and individuals in commercial litigation and in trust and probate disputes in Utah state courts. She drafts motions and handles discovery. She prepares cases for depositions, hearings, and mediation.
Commercial cases turn on the documents. Kirsten is at her best in a large, complicated record. She works through document productions and deposition transcripts. She comes back with what matters and the page it is on.
That discipline started in research. For nearly five years she was a research coordinator at the University of Utah School of Medicine. She collected and processed study data and kept each study on protocol under Institutional Review Board rules. One bad data point can sink a study. The habit stuck.
She also knows how to run things. At a Salt Lake City dental practice, she supervised and trained a team of more than ten and helped oversee daily operations. Clients who run businesses get a lawyer who has helped run one.
Kirsten earned her J.D. at Roger Williams University School of Law, where she was Communications Chair of Moot Court and president of the International Law Society. During law school she clerked at Carrara Law in Providence, Rhode Island, researching insurance, tort, contract, and family law questions. She also volunteered at the Pro Bono Collaborative's Eviction Help Desk. She is conversational in Spanish.
Her education is broad. She holds a B.S. in health and kinesiology from the University of Utah. Before her J.D., she earned two master's degrees at Pepperdine University Caruso School of Law, in dispute resolution and legal studies. Most cases settle. Kirsten trained for that part first.
